Charlotte works as a writer, editor and researcher using her legal knowledge and investigation skills alongside the power of storytelling to expose systems and policies perpetuating injustice.

She is founder and editor of openJustice, part of openDemocracy, which focuses on a variety of issues undermining the rule of law in the UK, having initially qualified as a solicitor from a London-based human rights firm in 2014. She has published reports focusing on how the government fails to meet its legal duties towards marginalised communities.

Charlotte’s work at Commons includes researching and writing our report on the nationality requirement, which, soon after publication, led to a change of government policy. She now works across our communications, research and policy projects.
